We strive to support our tamariki to learn and
grow where their mana and culture are embraced,
recognized and protected.
We view the child as a competent, confident and
capable learner.
We view the child holistically, as an individual
who have their own thoughts, ideas, and choices
and we strive to provide a curriculum that
enables them to grow their capabilities across all
dimensions.
We value our tamariki, whanau and community
partnership. We strive to develop meaningful and
respectful relationships with them. We also strive
to respect their aspirations for their child.
We aim to have an active participation from our
whanau, parents, and communities incorporating
this into our curriculum.
We strive to provide an environment were
respectful relationships, encouragement, warmth.
fun, and acceptance are the norm.

We believe that our tamariki are capable and competent learners, this will develop trust, respect, and confidence, thus creating lifelong learningand development.
We strongly believe in creating an inclusive environment for each child, creating a community culture that ensures all children can be actively involved in meaningful play and learning with and alongside their peers. This includes providing additional supports or removing barriers when
required.
Developing a curriculum that is firmly based on Tangata Whenuatanga that affirms Māori learners as Māori, provides contexts for learning, where the identity, language and culture of Māori learners are affirmed. We believe in creating a multicultural diverse learning environment where families and children from all cultures feel they belong and have a place in our community.
By using teacher inquiry and professional development we seek out positive ways to guide our children towards self-regulation and self-directed negation and problem-solving skills.
Providing an environment for children where their play is valued as leading to meaningful learning, learn strategies for active exploration, thinking, and reasoning, and develop working theories for making sense of the natural, social, physical, and material worlds. We will ensure this learning by using open ended questioning and recycled resources.
By working with children's and teacher's natural routine rhythms we celebrate a stress free and fun environment that creates harmony and calm, putting the child first before routines.
Creating a sustainable environment by using recycled and upcycled resources help provide children with understanding about how to care for our environment.

*Ko te ahurei o te tamariki arahia o tatou mahi'
(Let the uniqueness of the child guide our work)
We advocate Te Tiriti o Waitangi and uphold this in all that we do. We are fully committed to ensuring that young children are empowered to learn to their greatest potential, building firm foundations for life-long learning which
enables our children to grow and develop into 21st century citizens. We do this through the concept of Manaakitanga, developing an ethic of care with aroha, kindness and compassion.
We believe in the rights of the child.
We regard the early years of a child's development as being crucial for discovery
and exploration. We postulate that PLAY is a child's work and see children as
unique beings and appreciate that they develop and grow at their own pace. We understand this is strongly dependent on where they come from, their family culture, beliefs and values.
We believe that all children should be treated equally and fairly and given the same opportunities, irrespective of family background, age, ethnicity, gender or disability.
We understand that tamariki go through a range of emotions, we aim to provide satrategies to assist with the building up of self regulation skills. We encourage our tamariki to make decisions about their learning thus enabling them to develop
essential meta cognitive skills.
We aim to create safe yet challenging, inviting and positive learning environments that reflect a holistic approach to learning. Where children know they have a place. We advocate safe risk taking, cooperative social interactions and provoke curiosity while encouraging creativity and innovation. We ensure these are catered to through reciprocal relationships. We encourage using open ended questions to
develop and further extend critical thinking and problem solving skills. Most of all we consider children should be children and be able to have FUN in their every day
life.
We acknowledge and strive to work collaboratively with whanaungatanga (tamariki, parents, caregivers, extended families, teachers, outside communities) to ensure a high quality of Ako is provided. We undertake to act responsibly as Kaitiki of our environment, sharing with our tamariki the effect of what we do as consumers and the flow on effect this has on our environment, locally and globally.
